During this 11-day, 10-night tour full of irresistible reasons to visit Senegal, you will discover the many faces of a sunny, ever-smiling and generous nation. A nation whose hospitality (teranga Senegal) makes it one of the most welcoming countries in the world. Your journey begins with an exciting boat trip to the tiny car-free Gorée Island, a small, peaceful archipelago located in the Bay of Dakar. Here you will visit the flower-filled houses, cultural museums and historical monuments and meet local artists. You will also visit the Maison des Esclaves, meaning the House of Slaves Senegal, a memorial to the West African slave trade.

The rest of the Senegal tour packages takes you through a mosaic of landscapes: the Lompoul desert dunes that can reach 50 meters, the architectural and colourful heritage of the city of Saint Louis, lively fishing hamlets, traditional and craft villages, the weekly market of Sandiara with its unique atmosphere, dugout canoe rides in the heart of Djoudj and Saloum to observe an incalculable number of birds, the Great Mosque of Touba (the holy city of Mouridism), and the Lac Rose, known locally as Lake Retba, whose orange-pink colour is known for its high concentration of salt. To celebrate the end of your holiday you will enjoy the modern facilities of a 4-star hotel located on the Petite-Côte Sénégalaise, a stretch of coast running east from the Cap-Vert peninsula which is one of the many reasons to visit Senegal with our Senegal tour packages.

From 1,207 per person, for 11 days and 10 nights. Non-contractual information as of 28 March 2024.

Departures from Basel, Bordeaux, Brest, Brussels, Geneva, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, Nantes, Nice, Paris, Rennes and Toulouse.

  • The beauty and diversity of the landscape, the large number of natural sites and cultural or historical monuments are waiting to be discovered.
  • Your 4-star Kappa Club Royal Horizon Baobab offers several free activities such as local cooking classes and making cocktails, tastings, thematic evenings, nightly concerts, entertainment for children, swimming pools, outdoor sports and more.
  • You will be assisted by a French-speaking translator and guide throughout the tour.
  • Pope John Paul II visited the island of Gorée in 1992 to ask forgiveness on behalf of the Catholic Church for “the shameful trade in slavery” in which people were baptized but did not live their faith.
  • The Faidherbe Bridge is one of the most famous landmarks in the city of Saint Louis. Built at the end of the 19th-century during the French colonisation of the island, it connects the insular and historical part of Saint Louis (former trading post) to the rest of the city on the mainland. This structure spans more than 500 meters and has a section that can turn 90 degrees to accommodate the passage of ships between the Atlantic Ocean and the Senegal River. It is still the subject of many myths: that it was given as a gift by France to its colonial capital without any financial compensation, that its final destination in Senegal was the result of a huge administrative blunder, and that its designer is none other than Gustave Eiffel.
  • With the Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary and the Saloum Delta National Park, Senegal is home to some of the most important birdlife in the world.
  • You will be fully reimbursed in the event of Covid-19 restrictions. Departures are guaranteed from 2 people only. If you are travelling from a provincial city in France, the cost of transport to and from your destination is included.
  • It is possible to extend your stay at the 4-star Kappa Club Royal Horizon Baobab. Gratuities for guides and drivers as well as the tourist tax of approximately €1.50 per night per person are not included in the price.
  • Visas are not required for holidays in Senegal that are less than three months. However, your passport must be valid for 6 months from the date of return. To protect yourself against tropical illness, we strongly recommend that you are inoculated against Yellow Fever. It is also recommended that you have on-site anti-malaria treatment but you should discuss this with your doctor.
