Discover Pura Vida, a fascinating destination where nature still reigns supreme. This 8-night tour includes visits to three of Costa Rica’s protected areas, accompanied by a French-speaking guide. Navigate through canals in the jungle of Tortuguero National Park. Visit one of the hottest spots in Central America, the spectacular cone of Arenal Volcano National Park. You will also see a wide variety of wildlife in the tropical environment of Rincón de la Vieja National Park.

Visits to villages and sitting down to a meal with a Costa Rican family will introduce you to the “Pura Vida” philosophy. This idea embraces a positive way of living every day, and the inhabitants of Pura Vida are renowned for it. Your adventure promises many unique experiences. You will enjoy forests, trails, suspension bridges, waterfalls, hot springs, and wetlands rich in biodiversity. Part of the tour will introduce you to the use of the trapiche, a traditional mill that grinds and extracts sugar cane juice for distillation. Take the time to talk to a farmer who specialises in growing palms for hearts of palm and peach palm fruit, which you can sample during a tasting on the family farm. Depending on your flight schedule, you may also have the opportunity to visit a coffee plantation and admire Costa Rica’s black gold production. Here you will learn about all the stages of coffee production, from seed to cup.

From 2,799 per person for 10 days and 8 nights. Non-contractual information as of 28 March 2024.

Departures are possible from Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nice, Paris, Strasbourg and Toulouse. A transit night in Madrid may be necessary on the outward and/or return journey (at your expense).

  • Travel at an ideal pace, spending 2 nights in each of the three enchanting natural sites.
  • Stay in comfortable lodges nestled in lush surroundings and eat typical Costa Rican cuisine.
  • Experience the incredible biodiversity of Tortuguero, Arenal and Rincón de la Vieja National Parks.
  • In 1949, Costa Rica was the first country in the world to make the decision to disband its army.
  • Although it is a small country, a quarter of its territory is occupied by national parks or protected reserves.
  • The Arenal volcano, which has been inactive since 2010, protects Costa Rica’s largest lake. This lake produces enough hydroelectric power to cover about 25% of the national electricity requirements.
  • Groups must have a minimum of 3 people and may not exceed 18 participants. While Costa Rica does not have an international hotel classification, the accommodation chosen for this tour meets 3 and 4 star standards in France. It is customary to pay a tip of €4 to €7 per person per day to the guides and drivers who accompany you, at your discretion.
  • All meals (except dinner on day 4) and site entrance fees are included. A Baldi Spa swim (including dinner) and a Canopy Tour are available as optional excursions.
  • Bring a small travel bag with you to make things easier on your boat ride into Tortuguero National Park. Between October and November, you may be lucky enough to see hundreds of hatching baby turtles.
