Embark on a 12-night Mekong river cruise and explore two true gems of Southeast Asia: Cambodia and Vietnam. This remarkable journey starts in Siem Reap , the second-largest city in Cambodia and a stone throw away from the infamous archaeological complex of Angkor (9th to 15th century capital of the Khmer Empire). After exploring several untouched temples from the Middle Ages, there will be a stopover at Tonlé Sap (the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia). The Mekong river cruise will give you ample opportunity to explore surrounding villages and monuments before arriving at Phnom Penh, the last cultural stop of the river cruises Cambodia.

Enjoy an itinerary rich with colonial heritage, fishing culture and local cuisine as you cruise Mekong Delta (Southern Vietnam). Immerse yourself in the history of the country with visits to temples, palaces, pagodas, museums, historic homes and the Củ Chi tunnels. A moving visit to the Củ Chi tunnels (a network of underground tunnels) will shed light on the survival techniques used by the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam (Viet Cong) during the US involvement in Vietnam War. Planned stops along the Mekong River, en route to the modern city-centre of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), include: a market, beekeeping farm, artisanal puffed rice factory and a fishing farm. This is an unforgettable opportunity to immerse yourself in the travel experience as you cruise Mekong Delta. Look no furthur for Mekong cruises 2022, Cambodia cruises 2022 and a luxury Mekong River cruise Vietnam.

  • Explore the diverse and breathtaking landscapes that lie between two South East Asian countries
Attractions include archaeological remains, temples, pagodas, palaces, monuments, museums, fishing ports, Cho Gao Canal, markets, artisan villages, rice fields, historic cities of Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap…)
  • This full-board package includes beverages and meals exclusively prepared with local produce

  • The Mekong, the third longest river in Asia, starts its 4,000-kilometre journey at an altitude of 5,200 meters in the Tibetan Plateau (also known as the Himalayan Plateau) and ends in the South China Sea via a delta made up of nine branches (nicknamed ‘Song Cuu Long’ or The River of Nine Dragons). It flows through China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam before it reaches its destination.
  • Angkor, the capital of the ancient Khmer Empire, is home to the largest temple complex in the world (400 km²). French explorer and naturalist Henri Mouhot was the first to introduce the ruins of Angkor to Europe in 1860. Its foundations were engulfed for centuries by omnipotent vegetation. Even today, some temples such as Ta Prohm are partially covered by huge trees with deep and sprawling roots.
  • The city of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) was surrendered to the French under the “Treaty of Saigon” in 1862 (The Pearl of the Far East). The treaty initially established rule over Cochinchina (southern Vietnam) before expanding and becoming French Indochina until 1901. It was renamed “Hanoi” from 1902 to 1954, a period synonymous with the end of French colonialization and the country’s independence.
  • Tour guide systems will be available throughout the cruise. A French-speaking tour guide and cruise director will accompany guests on board. The US dollar will be the most commonly used currency during your trip (The euro will not be accepted).
  • Tips (excluding boat staff) and assistance/repatriation insurance are included in the price. Vietnamese/Cambodian visas are not included.
  • This region of Asia doesn’t require any specific vaccinations. We, however, recommend up-to-date tetanus, poliomyelitis, hepatitis A and B, diphtheria and typhoid fever vaccinations. We also recommend taking anti-malaria treatment upon arrival and carrying an effective mosquito repellent (please consult your medical practitioner).
