Located in Southern Africa, Zimbabwe is slowly recovering from the hyperinflation that hit its economy in the 2000s. It is nevertheless a very interesting destination to discover because of its rich natural heritage embodied by the Victoria Falls and Lake Kariba as well as the presence of several important archaeological remains. This landlocked country contains the ruins of the largest pre-colonial city in sub-Saharan Africa (Great Zimbabwe) built as early as the 11th century. Its highlands, forests and savannahs stretch between the Zambezi and Limpopo rivers. They are home to a wide variety of wildlife, including the famous Big Five.
