Unlike its Middle Eastern neighbors, Jordan cannot rely on hydrocarbon reserves. On the other hand, it counts two formidable jewels on its soil with the Nabataean city of Petra and the desert of Wadi Rum. Dependent on tourism, this small kingdom borders the Red Sea, the Dead Sea and the Jordan River. It contains beautiful surprises between biblical sites, historical vestiges dating from the Roman period, natural reserves and desert castles.
